The Landings is a beautiful tree-lined, well established, upscale neighborhood with both waterfront and non-waterfront properties located in Northeast Fort Lauderdale. The Landings are situated east of U.S. 1/Federal Highway, west of the Intracoastal Waterway, and north of Commercial Boulevard, and sits along both sides of Bayview Drive. One of Fort Lauderdale’s most prestigious neighborhoods, it is the only luxury gated waterfront community in Northeast Fort Lauderdale. Most of the homes on the east side of Bayview Drive within this neighborhood are located along deep water canals – a must for larger vessels – which offer ocean access with no fixed bridges. There are also a large number of homes on the west side of the community which have ocean access, albeit with fixed bridges. The few Intracoastal Point Lot properties offer a perfect combination of protected dockage for larger vessels on a side canal, as well as amazing views of the Intracoastal and the ocean.
Originally established in the 1960s, the homes in The Landings range from homes originally built during this era, to renovated/remodeled homes, to brand new construction. The eastern part of this neighborhood lacks land for new construction of new single family homes, so many purchase older homes that are considered “teardowns” that are then demolished and replaced with newly constructed homed. Architectural styles for homes in the Landings include a variety of styles, including traditional Ranch, Mid-Century, Mediterranean, Key West, and Contemporary/Modern constructions.
